Army: The primary mission of the Army is to "provide necessary forces and capabilities ... in support of the National Security and Defense Strategies. The Army took part in the combined U.S. and allied invasion of Irag in 2003. In the following years the mission changed from conflict between regular militaries to counterinsurgency, with large numbers of suicide attacks. The lack of stability in the theater of operations has led to longer deployments for Regular Army as well as Reserve and Guard troops.    The U.S. Army currently consists of 10 active divisions as well as several independent units. Within the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve there are a further six divisions, over fifteen maneuver brigades, additional combat support and combat service support brigades, and independent cavalry, infantry, artillery, aviation, engineer, and support battalion. The Army Reserve in particular provides virtually all psychological operations and civil affairs units.

Blast Proof: As per MIL-PRF-49078A, the handset or headset is subject to 30 rounds of a blast at a peak pressure of 9.5 psi. This simulates a gun blast. The handset must still operate to all audio levels. CJ-H-250 handsets and lightweight headsets meet the blast proof criteria.
